Blur

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

A collection with two readings with sequences of geometric shapes and repetition.

The sequence of geometric shapes and repetition are definitely the identifying mark of the Bouroullec brothers.

Their mastery, meticulousness and tireless spirit of going one step further has led them to work on Blur, a collection with two readings. When viewed from a distance, you can see an undefined, unfocused surface that gives its name to the collection. But nevertheless, as you get closer, you discover rhythmic lines and rhombuses in different proportions, in the purest kinetic style.

This blurred effect has been achieved by reversing the direction in which kilims are traditionally woven, making their creation much more laborious. This change in the production process causes the lines to become blurred, mixing two colors unevenly, creating an aged rug reminiscent of the past.
