Improvisation

A tapestry to the rhythm of Jazz, where the plot is the melody and the warp is the improvised solos.

Borrowing Jazz as a source of inspiration, Improvisation arises from the spontaneity of weaving; The plot is the melody and the warp is the improvised solos. Between colors and rhythms, the tapestry explodes as the codes create new forms.

The piece, designed by Honduran textile artist Gian Padilla, is a nod to the ancient work of weaving where women wove without a script or intention of representation; They experimented and created spontaneous pieces with an innate sensitivity.

On this occasion, Afghan wool has been chosen as the main fiber. Its rustic appearance and the inherent irregularities in this fiber come together to create a tapestry that demonstrates the beauty and authenticity of the craftsmanship involved.

Likewise, it has been played with only three colors. A range of grays and neutral tones merge between the rhythms that draw different graphics but that share the same chromatic range.

The result is a masterpiece that breaks the coldness of any wall with only three shades of color, but with an extraordinary richness of textures.
